This is Obviously, a new website. it is really an old website but now its new thanks to my hosting company. But I will not dwell on that as the old website had not been modified in years.
So set back and enjoy the latin stuff below while I get to work on this site. Its going to take a lot of time until I recover what was lost and what needs to be new, like an entire site makeover. In the end I will have a simple blog, MIDI files, a logon system for those who want to maintain a todo list and possibly a personal journal that is private.

Yahoo
I frequent the Yahoo message boards frequently. And this post has nothing to do with yahoo itself but rather the people who populate that board.
While I am in no way a historian, and don't care to dredge up what party was in power when Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves, I find the discussion is there wildly entertaining. There don't seem to be a great many people there but there is a wide range of views on many subjects. Prior to the elections partisanship ran strong and no one could win an argument, just present their case for their particular candidate and leave it at that.
Right now many arguments seem to center around Will the new president destroy the country within a week or should we wait and see what he is going to do. But all in all I find most of the discussions to be very funny. Those on the right say the world is coming to an end and those on the left say global warming will do it.
I find the concept of the Yahoo message boards to be a great source of fun and a great place to meet people with opinions much like your own. While there are always people who abuse the right to be there that is fine as well. Everyone is different and everyone has their own interests to discuss. The fun part is about how others abuse people for their opinions, when their opinions seem to be so outlandish as to be absurd. Then you have the people who get mad when people discuss sports, fantasy sports, movies and other topics not related to the political scene.
I have been going to the Yahoo message boards for over seven years now and have seen a great many people come and go. Although I don't know how many people have gone I just know that we constantly see new identifications posting the same stuff. It's great fun and a good way to meet people witn like opinions.

The Saga of The Seven Suns

I have just finished reading a remarkable set of six books by Kevin J. Anderson.
The stories are comprised of humans and several other alien life forms. Two of the lifeforms are human and at least three of the others are totally different.
the timeframe is obviously well in our future. Light speed travel is commonplace. The story begins centering around the planet Earth and the government that governs a very large body of planets. Along the way you'll went into intelligent lifeforms that inhabit suns as well as the cold of space, and creatures that are not unlike insects.
this story also envelops many personalities as it shifts back and forth between worlds, and between battles in space. To try to do the entire story justice here would be impossible. But in short on the side of the humans are the world trees and the wentils. The wentils are pay water-based life form with great powers. The world trees are used as a medium of instantaneous mental telepathy across the universe. The trees also have their own natural defenses against the hydrogues and the faeros who are the creatures that inhabit suns.
this series encompasses a great deal of time and space, along with the interactions of peoples and their attempts to survive against powerful aliens. I most emphatically would recommend these books to anyone involved in reading science fiction

Has OBL Won Again?

One most certainly has to wonder if Osama bin Laden hasn't been successful once again.
We have the bombings in India very probably performed by terrorist functions from Pakistan. We now have India and Pakistan sending troops to both of the borders, and both appealing to the United States for military support.
Whom would the United States support in a conflict? The country who was taken many of our jobs away and are providing cheap labor for our on American corporations, or the country who is supposedly our newfound friend in the war on terrorism? With both countries via nuclear countries, what shape of that conflict take?
And would Osama bin Laden once again forced United States to spend money on a conflict far from home?
I would imagine that our first impulse would be to negotiate a truce between the two. But even that takes energy and money away from solving our problems here at home. What will President Obama do to allow us to get through these times? That answer remains to be seen

Music Slides
The music industry seems to be in a slide now, as ticket sales are well down and cd sales are down. I am sure the executives will blame online pirating of music as the culprit and never recognize that their product is well over priced
With the economy dropping like a rock and unemployment soaring, will they still be able to sell cd's the way they have been? Personally I will be happy to see Sony suffer becuase of the huge profits they have made in the past by overcharging. And that doesnt even include the fact they determine what music you hear and what you dont hear.
